Rail transit AFC system is a large integrated systembased on hi-tech technologies including computer, network, moderncommunication, automatic control, non-contact IC card, database,electromechanical integration, pattern recognition, sensor, precisionmachinery. It consists of four parts: central computer system, station computersystem, terminal equipment and ticket. The terminal equipment includesautomatic gate machine, automatic vending machine, semi-automatic vendingmachines, automatic recharge machines, and portable ticket checking machine.There are two types of tickets: one-way ticket and prepaid card, which may beincreased according to the demand.

In 2004, the company conducted a thorough research on thecore technology of metro AFC software and built Panda self-developed metro AFCsoftware system including：

Special terminal equipment (gate, automatic ticketvending machine, semi-automatic ticket vending machine, portable ticketchecking machine, etc.) application software.

The combination of the above subsystems implements theentire function of AFC system. Based on this system, the metro AFC system canbe customized according to the specific requirements of the clients, which laysthe foundation for the future development of rail transit software.
